Ahmed Soura, born in Burkina Faso, lives and works Berlin, Germany. He graduated at the Institut National de Formation Artistique et Culturelle (INAFAC) led by Daniel Bansé and Ousseni Manli (National Ballet of Burkina Faso), Toé Emmanuel and Congo Alassanne. He participated in an intensive workshop at ADMS in France, which were led by Anne Marie Pascoli and some dancers of the Ballet de Paris and the Ballet de Marseille. Further he is trained in modern contemporary jazz by Sylvie Pagenaud and in contemporary and Afro-Contemporary dance by Salia Sanou, Seydou Boro, Ousseni Sako, Angelin Preljocaj, Carolyn Carlson, Eddy Malem, Opyo Okach, Rokia Kone, Gregory Maqoma, Ariry Andriamoratsiresy. Meanwhile he took part at four editions of the dance festival "Dialogue de Corps" in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. He mastered choreography trainings with Mathilde Monnier, Christina de Smedt, Xavier Le Roy, Jan Ristema, Loic Touze, Mette Ingvarsten, Andros Zinsbrowne, Claude Espinassier and Anna Falcidia through “EX.E.R.CE 2007” at the National Choreographic Center of Montpellier. He participated at the traditional dance ensemble of Burkina Musium "Baobab Sacré", the Company Corp´Art, the Company Iréne TASSEMBEDO, Company Joseph Aka with national and international tours. 2005-2007, he was assistant choreographer of Pierre Armand Gahé at the dance and theater school "Atelier Théâtre Burkinabé" (ATB). 2009 He was assistant choreographer of Irene TASSEMBEDO for the opening and final show of the Pan-African film festival (FESPACO) in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. 2010, Ahmed Soura is a dancer and a actor of the Opera "Via Intolleranza II" by the german director Christoph Schlingensief with several tours in Europe. 2012-2013 he worked in the Opera Ballet in four productions of Deutsche Oper Berlin In March 2011, Ahmed Soura got the 3rd Price in dance of the 15th International Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival 2011 in Stuttgart, Germany with his Solo “En opposition avec moi”. March 2013, he won also the 2nd price at Need2Dance.eu, online competition (Jury: Melissa King) Since 2007, he is Artistic Director of the traditional dance ensemble "KÔRO" in Burkina Faso. He developed several own choreographies like "En opposition avec moi", "Pas qu´un Poids", "Rien ne m´appartient", “Au prêt du Temps”, Auprès du Printemps”, “Neben Der Zeit”,... He animated several dance workshops in Burkina Faso, France, Germany, Brazil, Switzerland. |
